Application

In order to be considered for a grant, organizations must be classified as nonprofit organizations and provide the Dart Foundation with a copy of their IRS determination letter ( Sample determination letter PDF: 56kB ). Upon awarding the grant, the organization is asked to sign and return a grant agreement.

Due to limited Dart Foundation funds, fewer new grant requests are being approved at this time.

Beginning July 2010, we ask that you contact the Dart Foundation before submitting a request for funding. Please call Claudia Deschaine, Grants Manager, at 517-244-2190 or contact the Dart Foundation online to discuss your proposed request prior to submission.

Two grant applications are provided:

The SHORT FORM ( DOC: 25kB or PDF: 14kB ) is intended for simple grant requests which can be described and presented in a one-page format.

The LONG FORM ( DOC: 27kB or PDF: 27kB ) is intended for program/project requests that require further explanation and detail.

Applications are accepted and reviewed on an ongoing basis. However, if your grant request is over $5,000, deadlines apply. Deadlines for grant requests over $5,000 are:

June 15, September 15, December 15, & March 15.

Grant decisions are announced on or about:

July 15, October 15, January 15, & April 15.
